Veritape CallGuard - data security & PCI DSS compliance

Veritape CallGuard is essential for any company wishing to record telephone conversations containing sensitive payment card data, while ensuring PCI DSS compliance and internal data security. It works with Veritape’s call recording, or any other call recording system, to ensure that recorded telephone conversations are fully PCI compliant, by automatically eliminating sensitive card data from a recorded call.

“Bolt-on” PCI DSS compliance

For the first time, any business which already owns a call recording system can easily and simply ‘bolt on’ PCI compliance. Obviously, Veritape CallGuard can operate with Veritape call recording. But if you use Verint/Witness, NICE, ASC or any other call recording platform, Veritape CallGuard will also work for you. And here’s the really amazing thing about Veritape CallGuard:

Eliminate the risk of internal data theft

Not only does Veritape CallGuard ensure PCI DSS compliance for recorded calls, but also solves the growing problem of internal data security. With Veritape CallGuard, the customer never tells the Agent their card details, and the Agent never sees the card details on screen. In this way, Agents are completely isolated from the transaction.

But how does it work?

It’s simple. With Veritape CallGuard’s patent-pending technology, customers communicate their payment card details by using their telephone keypad. These key presses generate “DTMF tones” through the telephone.

Veritape CallGuard automatically detects and blocks those tones (and therefore the payment card data) from the call recording. At the same time, Veritape CallGuard automatically enters the customer’s card details into the relevant fields on the Agent’s screen, but obscured (with ‘***’ asterisks or similar just like a password field) so that the Agent handling the call does not see the card data.

A major advantage of Veritape CallGuard is that it allows Agents to remain fully in control of the conversation. Unlike some PCI compliant call recording solutions, there is no external IVR involved, so the customer is always on the line to the Agent.
